Dee Freeman, an American television actress best known for her work on The Young and the Restless and other popular series, has passed away at the age of 66 after a battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Her family confirmed her death, describing her fight with the illness as courageous. The announcement was also made by her publicist, Desirae L. Benson, who highlighted Freeman’s professionalism, strength, and the positive impact she had on those around her.
Before pursuing acting, Freeman served in the U.S. Marine Corps. She later began her television career, appearing in a range of shows including Seinfeld, ER, The X‑Files, and Dexter. Her roles in The Young and the Restless and Tyler Perry’s Sistas brought her widespread recognition, and she also starred in Pretty the Series.
Freeman is remembered not only for her memorable performances but also for her dedication, kindness, and influence in the industry. She is survived by her two children, and her contributions to television leave a lasting legacy.
