Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail for the third time as he awaits his trial on charges of s3x trafficking and racketeering
The 55-year-old former hip-hop mogul made another attempt for release before Thanksgiving but will stay in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial, scheduled for May 2025.
Combs, who denies the charges, proposed a $50 million bail package during a hearing last week.
His lawyers argued that the amount would guarantee he wouldn’t flee or attempt to intimidate witnesses.
However, US District Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the request in a written ruling on Wednesday.
The judge cited evidence of Combs’ violent behavior, including a 2016 hotel surveillance video showing him assaulting his ex-partner Cassie.
Subramanian also expressed concerns about the potential risk of witness tampering.
In the ruling, the judge stated: “The Court finds that the government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community.”
