Sean “P Diddy” Combs is working on himself behind bars as he is currently enrolled in therapy programs for both domestic violence and drug use

While the disgraced media mogul remains incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, he has been seeking professional help through multiple resources.

As he awaits his resentencing hearing, Diddy is participating in the STOP Program (Specialized Treatment for Optimized Programming).

The STOP Program is designed to help inmates transition back into the community and works to prevent sexual assault, domestic and dating violence. According to TMZ, the father of seven is also enrolled in the drug abuse program at the facility run by Dr. Harry K. Wexler.

This comes as Diddy’s defense team has acknowledged his past drug use and violence, but has maintained that it is not related to the criminal charges that he has been faced with.

Teny Geragos, an attorney for Diddy, said in an opening statement, “We are telling you right now that he is physical, that he is a drug user, and I’m telling you he had a bit of a different sex life. Is that a federal crime? No.”

She continued. “You will hear that he got IVs after ingesting drugs. Is that a federal crime? No. He will be responsible. He will be accountable for the things that he did. But we will fight for his freedom throughout the next eight weeks for what he did not do.”

While it was not confirmed which drugs Diddy has struggled with, it has been previously claimed that his freak-off parties were supplied with a number of hard substances. Photos presented from Diddy’s freak-off parties during trial included images of ketamine, cocaine, MDMA crystal meth and alprazolam – the active ingredient in Xanax.

Diddy’s strides towards improvement comes as he is currently awaiting his upcoming resentencing hearing. Judge Arun Subramanian has landed on October 3 as the date for his hearing in which he is facing a maximum of 20 years in prison.

During this criminal trial, Diddy faced five charges across three federal indictments, including s3x trafficking, conspiracy racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The 55-year-old rapper was met with a mixed verdict as he was found not guilty on the RICO charge, but guilty on the transportation to engage in prostitution charge. He was also found not guilty on both s3x trafficking charges.

Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. Additionally, he vehemently denies all allegations of wrongdoing against him, including those alleged in civil lawsuits.
