Federal prosecutors have reportedly seized attorney-client privileged materials from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, according to TMZ and Billboard reports.
Defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo has raised serious concerns about the seizure, stating that the materials include Combs’ handwritten notes to his legal team regarding defense witnesses and trial strategies.

According to Agnifilo, federal authorities have acknowledged possessing these notes.
Agnifilo argues this seizure violates Combs’ constitutional rights under the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments.
In court documents, he stated: “This search and seizure are in violation of Mr. Combs’ [constitutional] rights” and “The targeted seizure of a pre-trial detainee’s work product and privileged materials – created in preparation for trial – is outrageous government conduct amounting to a substantive due process violation.”
The defense team is requesting an immediate evidentiary hearing, with Agnifilo noting: “This is a matter of grave concern that, most respectfully, must be addressed immediately, because the U.S. Attorney, and it seems the trial prosecutors, are currently in possession of privileged materials we request a full evidentiary hearing as soon as the Court can accommodate us.”
The case relates to federal charges against Combs from September 17, 2024, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
