Attorneys for Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs have filed a legal request asking the court to allow the 54-year-old rapper to appear unshackled in future court proceedings, challenging his previous treatment during a recent hearing.

In a formal document, attorney Marc Agnifilo wrote: “We write on behalf of our client, Mr. Sean Combs, to respectfully request that the Court direct the United States Marshals Service to unshackle Mr. Combs prior to bringing him into the courtroom for tomorrow’s hearing and for all future court appearances.”

Agnifilo highlighted that Diddy was placed in leg shackles during his October 10 court appearance “without any justification.”

The defense team argued that the restraints pose significant concerns, potentially creating juror bias and hampering the defendant’s ability to communicate with his legal counsel.

“Given the press attention on the pretrial proceedings in this case, there is a substantial risk that potential jurors will learn about the shackling through the media and develop such a bias,” Agnifilo stated.

The legal request comes amid a complex legal battle surrounding Diddy’s sex trafficking and racketeering case.

An additional controversy emerged when his lawyers accused prosecutors of “outrageous government conduct” after materials were allegedly seized from his jail cell.

Prosecutors responded to these claims, explaining that the cell search was part of a pre-planned, jail-wide safety inspection unrelated to Diddy’s specific case.

They noted that an investigator entered the cell and deliberately avoided examining a manila envelope marked ‘legal‘.

A hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, with a bail hearing already set for Friday, as the legal proceedings continue to unfold.
