Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has opened up about a difficult period marked by opposition and internal plots, revealing that his rise to national leadership was driven by faith and what he described as divine intervention
Speaking during a worship service at Conquerors Global Assembly in Abuja, the former Chief of Defence Staff reflected on how events meant to pull him down ultimately worked in his favour, attributing the turnaround to God’s hand in his life.

“We give God the glory for what has happened this year. Even when the enemy thought they were putting us down, they did not know God was going to lift us up.
“In their small minds they conspired and thought they had won. But as long as you have God as your pillar, you will win.”
Musa encouraged Christians to remain resolute in their faith, stressing that challenges are often necessary for growth and elevation. He also emphasized unity and prayer as vital ingredients for national progress.
“If you are never challenged, you can never improve in life. As Nigerians, we know we are strong, but we are stronger together with God Almighty. Nigerians are winners. We must continue to pray for our leaders and our country.”
He further reminded believers that God remains constant even in adversity, noting that “because we serve a living God, He will never give up on us.”
Musa’s testimony comes weeks after President Bola Tinubu, on December 2, nominated him as Minister of Defence and submitted his name to the Senate for confirmation. He was appointed to replace Mohammed Badaru, who stepped down from the position due to health concerns.
