BBNaija star, Tolanibaj has accused a former employee of selling DJ equipment worth millions of naira that belonged to her academy.
Tolanibaj said she hired Precious Akiyemi Deborah as an executive assistant in April. She later entrusted her with more than ₦6 million to purchase four DJ controllers for the academy.
A few weeks after the purchase, Tolanibaj said she noticed that three of the controllers were missing. When she asked Precious about them, she was allegedly told that the equipment had been taken home because it was faulty.
Tolanibaj said she eventually fired her and sent members of staff to Precious’ residence to collect the controllers. However, they reportedly found that she was no longer there.
It was later, according to Tolanibaj, that she discovered the equipment had been sold. She also said Precious had contacted another DJ about renting similar equipment for replacement.
The matter was reported to the police, and Tolanibaj said two people who allegedly bought the controllers were arrested. One of the controllers has since been recovered.
“The two guys she sold the controllers to have been arrested, but Prescious is on the run and currently wanted”, she said.
She said Precious is currently wanted by the police and appealed to anyone who knows where she is to contact the authorities.
Tolanibaj also used the experience to encourage business owners to put better systems in place when handling company money, equipment and other valuable assets.
