According to his medical team, the diagnosis came after a series of detailed examinations, including vascular studies and ultrasounds. The results ruled out more serious issues such as deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.

Chronic venous insufficiency occurs when the valves in the leg veins fail to function properly, making it harder for blood to return to the heart and leading to blood pooling in the legs.

The condition is relatively common among people over 70—Trump is currently 79.
