Dr. Becky Enenche, wife of Pastor Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has advised married men to maintain clear boundaries in their relationships with female secretaries, warning them against allowing workplace relationships to affect their marriages.
Speaking in a post shared online, she said men should pay attention to how close they become to female staff members, particularly when communication with them begins to take up more attention than their relationships with their wives.
She acknowledged that women can be efficient secretaries but stressed the need for married men to exercise wisdom in managing such relationships.
She said:
“I know women can make very efficient secretaries, but wisdom is profitable to direct”.
Becky also cautioned men to take notice when they begin receiving messages from their secretaries more frequently than from their wives.
“By the time somebody’s text messages are entering your phone more frequently than your wife’s, query, query, query”, she started.
She encouraged married men to take deliberate steps to protect their marriages and avoid situations that could create unnecessary closeness with another woman.
“Make efforts to protect yourself. Let it be strategic and well calculated. I know that the Lord will help us in the name of Jesus Christ.”
“Please, don’t let anybody take the place of your wife”, she stated.
Speaking about secretaries who prepare tea or coffee for their bosses, she questioned the need for such arrangements when they could lead to spending more time together than necessary.
“That person who comes to the office, as God’s servant said, to cook tea for you. You boil water and infuse it with tea bags, or you boil water to make coffee.
“But when we talk about cooking tea, you’re spending more time than necessary with that person.
“If your secretary is a woman, just ensure you have boundaries and don’t let her cook your tea”, she added.
