Judy Austin has warned women not to assume that pregnancy guarantees marriage, stressing that getting pregnant for someone can lead to regret if the relationship is not built on a strong foundation
She advised women to ask themselves important questions before committing: “Can I spend the rest of my life with this guy? Can I love him, commit to him, grow with him, and build with him?”
She emphasized that such decisions should not be made if a woman is still young or not mentally prepared for a serious relationship.
Judy encouraged women to take time to date, learn about people, and understand that trust should be placed first in oneself and in God. “You need to show up for yourself before expecting anyone else to show up for you,” she said.
Highlighting the dangers of early marriage, she added: “Early marriage has damaged so many people. Many are divorced, many struggle to care for children they were not ready for, and many carry emotional baggage from rushing into marriage too soon.”
She advised building emotional, intellectual, and spiritual strength first: “Learn, grow, work, and build the shock absorber you need. When you are ready, pray and ask God to bring the right person into your life. That way, even if things don’t work out perfectly, you will have no regrets.”
