According to reports, the former minister is seriously sick
and needs to be flown to India possibly tonight as a matter of urgency. Efforts
are currently being made by officials of the foreign affairs ministry to secure
an Indian visa for her as soon as possible because her doctor says any delay might
be risky.
It will be recalled that Mrs Akunyili has been sick for a
while, but showed up at the on-going conference in Abuja where she thanked those
