Residents of Ekpoma in Edo State are in mourning after the k!lling of businessman Justice Oshioke, who was gunned down just hours before his child’s dedication ceremony
Oshioke, the Chief Executive Officer of a well-known fast-food brand, Principle Takeout, was reportedly shot de.ad on Saturday night by suspected kidnappers.
He was said to have been attacked around the Idumebo area of Ekpoma while returning home.
An eyewitness, who requested anonymity, said the attackers tried to abduct him but met resistance.
“The attackers tried to drag him into the bush, but he resisted, and he was shot
“People rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead,” the source said.’
The killing reportedly happened a day before his newborn child’s dedication, leaving the community in shock and deep sadness, with growing concerns over insecurity in the area.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Eno Ikoedem, described the development as tragic.
“The Edo State Police Command is deeply saddened by the tragic murder of Justice Abu Oshioke. He was fatally shot by unidentified armed men on 2nd May 2026 at about 9:55 p.m. at Idumebo, Ekpoma,” Ikoedem said.
She added that the victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to her, the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has directed a full-scale investigation into the killing.
