Davido has revealed why he’s deeply invested in the Edo State governorship election
The singer’s late mother, Imade Veronica Adeleke, hailed from Edo State, creating a personal connection.
However, Davido emphasizes that his concern extends beyond family ties.
“As a Nigerian, I believe it’s essential to ensure free and fair elections,” Davido stated on social media.
He has been vocal in criticizing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over alleged malpractices during the election.
This isn’t Davido’s first time advocating for electoral integrity; he previously spoke out during the Osun State gubernatorial election, where his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, was a candidate.
Davido has also publicly endorsed the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, for the Edo governorship election.
With his influential voice, Davido joins fellow Nigerians in calling for a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
My mom is from Edo for those wondering why I’m interested in the election … but we as Nigerians should be concerned sha .. @inecnigeria shame on you I know how many times I had to come in here and rant before they got it right in Osun ! It’s really bad . God help us
