The Edo State Government will organize a state burial for late music maestro, Victor Uwaifo.
A statement on Sunday by Chief of Staff to the Governor, Osaigbovo Iyoha said.
Uwaifo, 80, died on August 28, 2021. He was an instrumentalist, arts teacher and culture ambassador.
Iyoha said the government is firming up arrangements with the family of the deceased.
“The Governor has approved a state burial for an illustrious and dearly beloved Edo music icon, Prof. Sir Victor Uwaifo.
“Arrangements are in top gear and we will disclose more details of the burial in conjunction with the family”, he noted.
The ‘Guitar Boy’ was Nigeria’s first Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism.
