Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benin have arrested Osagie Destiny Etinosa for allegedly defrauding a footballer of N11 million under the guise of arranging trials at foreign clubs
In a statement on Wednesday, the EFCC said Etinosa, who presents himself as a football agent on Instagram, claims to “specialise in linking footballers with foreign clubs for trials and recruitment.”

The anti-graft agency added that the arrest was made “through open source intelligence.”
According to the commission, Etinosa allegedly swindled Samuel Beke Ohazuruike of N11 million by promising trials with Romanian and Bulgarian clubs—appointments that never took place. “Efforts by the victim to recover his money proved abortive,” the EFCC said.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court shortly.
