EFCC arrests Spiritualist for se.xtortion

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a self-styled spiritualist, Odigie Moses, over an alleged sextortion case involving $1,100

Moses was apprehended in Ekpoma, Edo State, following allegations that he used a fake claim of possessing spiritual healing abilities to exploit a woman.

According to the EFCC, the suspect presented himself on Zelle as someone capable of providing spiritual solutions to serious personal challenges. An Indian woman who was seeking such assistance reportedly contacted him.

The commission said Moses subsequently convinced the woman to undergo a naked spiritual bath, which he allegedly recorded without her consent.

After obtaining the video, the suspect allegedly threatened to release the footage publicly unless the woman paid him money.

EFCC investigations reportedly established that the victim eventually transferred $1,100 to Moses in an attempt to prevent him from publishing the video containing her nudity.

The anti-graft agency said investigations into the case are ongoing and that the suspect will be prosecuted once the process is completed.
