GHOne Television’s parent company, EIB Network, has addressed the recent controversy surrounding its presenter, Serwaa Amihere.
A video showing Amihere with a man identified as Henry Fitz went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.
In a press release dated July 5, 2024, EIB Network stated, “At the end of a thorough and impartial investigation, the committee found no form of misconduct or breaches on the part of Serwaa Amihere in the circulation of the said video.”
The company also pledged to cooperate with authorities in ongoing criminal proceedings related to the video’s publication.
Amihere herself addressed the situation in a statement on April 24, 2024. She apologized for any embarrassment caused to her family, employers, and associated brands.
Amihere confirmed the video was five years old, saying, “I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potential, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society.”
She revealed that the video’s release came “after five months of threats and extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book.”
Amihere expressed that she has learned valuable lessons from this experience.
The Ghana Police Service has charged three individuals for sharing the video, highlighting the legal implications of such actions.
