This move, according to the company is part of a broader effort to address over N100bn in debt due to aggregate technical, commercial, and collection losses.

This is as the DISCO intensified campaign against energy theft and vandalism.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of EKEDC, Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh, announced the dismissals during a customer engagement forum with the Orile Business District.

Represented by Mrs Catherine Ezeafulukwe, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Momoh said, “Energy theft and vandalism have been persistent issues, causing significant financial losses and safety risks.”

She emphasised the company’s commitment to collaborating with customers to improve service delivery and address these challenges.

Mrs. Momoh noted that energy theft prevents efficient service delivery and impacts EKEDC’s financial stability.
