The Ekiti State Government has given its backing to a new movie project that tells the story of the historic Ekiti Parapo War
The film will be produced by popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji and his wife Adebimpe, through their production company, AL Notions Film Company.
The movie aims to bring to life the story of the Ekiti people’s struggle and triumph over oppression, using world-class production techniques. The project is a collaboration between the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji approved the project during a meeting in Ado-Ekiti, and the production will be privately funded. The team from the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy will be led by Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, a renowned artistic director in Africa.
Adebimpe Adedimeji expressed her excitement about the project, stating that she and her husband are fully committed to ensuring its success. The couple plans to dedicate their utmost attention to the production, which will feature Ekiti towns and villages as major filming locations.
The film will showcase the region’s cultural heritage and history, with several talented actors of Ekiti origin expected to be involved. The project is expected to promote the rich cultural heritage of Ekiti State and provide a unique opportunity for the people of the state to tell their story.
