Emir Of Gwoza, Others Escape From Gwoza After Boko Haram Attack

A heavy rainfall late Monday night helped hundreds of
residents of Gwoza, Borno State, who had been hiding on different mountains to
escape to a safe haven. The Emir of Gwoza, Muhammed Timta and a district head
in the town, Hakimi Ibrahim who have been missing since last Wednesday’s  attack in their community were among those
who escaped out of the town.
According to reports, hundreds of the escapees managed to
climb the rocky mountain that borders Cameroon and Adamawa after the insurgents
killed hundreds of them on Wednesday and took over Gwoza town.

The military in two attempts to take over Gwoza back from
the insurgents have since failed, but are mapping out another strategy to take over
    the town.
The immediate past Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in
Borno also confirmed the escape of the trapped residents.
