Empress Njamah has left fans in shock after posting a video of herself turning down a surprise marriage proposal from a close male friend
In the video shared on her Instagram page, the man—whom she described as “King of Abuja”—got down on one knee and professed his love, saying:
“I prayed to God and He answered me and brought you my way. Will you marry me?”
Empress, clearly emotional, respectfully declined.
She expressed gratitude for the bold action, especially in front of his friends and family, but insisted she wasn’t interested in taking their friendship further.
“I am so emotional right now, but I have to speak. You actually omitted the fact that you threw this in front of your friends and family. I respect them so much, and I am overwhelmed. I didn’t expect that it would happen so soon. Coming from the king of Abuja, for you to go on your knees, to do this for me… and at the end of the day, I said I am not interested.”
In her caption, Empress made her reasons clear:
“AND I SAID NOOOOO
SAID NO TO MY GEE
GEE NO DEY MARRY GEE, BETTER FRIENDS THAN LOVERS.”
