Despite appeals from the federal government, political leaders, traditional, and religious leaders to cancel the nationwide hunger protest, activities commenced in Abuja today

The peaceful protest began at Moshood Abiola Stadium, with demonstrators holding placards and banners bearing messages such as ‘Make Legislation a Part-Time Job’, ‘End Bad Government Now’, and ‘Take It Back Movement #EndBadGovernmentInNigeria’.

Meanwhile, the presidency has urged the protesters to abandon the demonstration, assuring that the federal government is working to address hunger and other issues.
In a show of support for the protesters’ right to assemble, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), led by Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun, has pledged to protect them from potential harassment by hoodlums.
