England won against Switzerland in a Euro 2024 quarter-final penalty shoot-out in Dusseldorf, following a 1-1 draw

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a crucial save on Manuel Akanji’s penalty attempt, and England’s players successfully converted all five of their penalties.
Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the winning penalty.
This win marks England’s second penalty shoot-out victory in the European Championship, with their first win coming against Spain in 1996.
During the match, Switzerland’s Breel Embolo scored in the 75th minute, but England equalized with a goal from Bukayo Saka five minutes later.
England will face either the Netherlands or Turkey in the semi-finals.
