The Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo has been called out for putting up a billboard to mourn victims of a school bus crash and then using a photo of himself smiling.
Recall eight pupils of Presentation Nursery and Primary school were crushed to death in an accident that occurred on October 28, in Awgu. A teacher and the driver were also killed in the accident.
Now while mourning them, the Local Government Chairman is seen smiling broadly in the billboard while a photo of the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi stands on the left.
Senator Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who shared the post on Facebook has called on the LG Chairman to immediately take down the billboard. He wrote;
”If you know this local government chairman from Awgu Local Government council in Enugu west called Hon.Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, pls tell him to remove this immediately”.
Social media users have also expressed their displeasure, wondering how such a huge mistake could be made.
