‘Wicked‘ actor Ethan Slater has admitted that being in a public relationship with singer Ariana Grande has been “difficult.”
The two met while filming the movie adaptation of ‘Wicked‘ in 2022.
Their relationship, however, stirred controversy as both were legally married at the time.
This likely explains why Ethan attended a ‘Wicked‘ red carpet event alone over the weekend, while Ariana was photographed with co-star Cynthia Erivo.
Ethan, dressed in a dark green jacket, black trousers, and a matching bowtie, kept a sophisticated look.
When his relationship with Ariana went public, Ethan, 32, was married to Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a child.
Reports suggest that their relationship began while filming the two-part ‘Wicked‘ movie.
In an interview with ‘GQ‘ magazine, Ethan shared his experience of having a private relationship exposed to public scrutiny.
He said, “I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public.”
He added, “It’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love.”
