Nollywood actress and social media personality Etinosa Idemudia has raised an urgent call for collective action after noting a persistent issue in nightlife venues
According to her, some clubs, lounges, and hotels still refuse entry to women who are unaccompanied by men, while men face no such restrictions.
In a post on Instagram, Etinosa wrote:
“Dear feminists, if you are still awake, please, there’s one strong issue you are yet to help us tackle It’s the fact that women are restricted from entering a club/lounge/hotel without the presence of ‘a man’. Meanwhile, men can go in and out of anywhere they please. I fight it anywhere I go but I can’t do it alone.”
She described the practice as discriminatory and “sickening,” stressing that it perpetuates outdated gender norms and limits women’s freedom to enjoy public spaces independently.
Etinosa has previously used her platform to address social issues affecting women and continues to advocate for change.
By highlighting this issue, she is urging feminists and activists to join her in challenging policies and practices that unfairly restrict women.
