Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2023 election, has officially resigned from the party
Gawuna, who previously served as deputy governor under former Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje, made his decision known in a resignation letter addressed to the APC chairman of Gawuna Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area.

Describing the move as a personal choice, he stated, “I hereby formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 29, 2026.”
Sources indicate that following his exit from the APC, Gawuna is likely to align with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
