The 2023 Kano State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasiru Gawuna, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC)

Gawuna, who previously served as deputy governor of Kano State, received his ADC membership card on Tuesday at his Gawuna Ward in Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The registration ceremony drew prominent political figures, including former Kano State Governor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, immediate past deputy governor Aminu Gwarzo, and ADC state chairman Musa Ungogo, alongside thousands of party supporters.

After his registration, Gawuna thanked his supporters and party leaders, pledging his commitment to strengthening the ADC in Kano State.

His defection comes amid a series of political shifts in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections, as key politicians realign and adjust their strategies in the run-up to the polls.
