An explosion at a hotel near a police station in Kenya’s Mandera town has k!lled four people, including three officers
The explosion is suspected to be the work of an extremist group al-Shabab.
The blast occurred at a local hotel during breakfast hours, injuring several others.
Police suspect the explosion, caused by an improvised explosive device, to be the work of the al-Shabab extremist group, known for previous attacks in Kenya and Somalia.
Though unclaimed, the incident aligns with the group’s modus operandi.
This tragedy follows another attack in Lamu County, where two police reservists lost their lives.
Mandera’s proximity to a forest, a frequent hiding spot for militants, has made it a hotspot for security operations.
