Plans to lay late gospel singer Omije Ojumi to rest have been canceled by her family
The announcement was made by fellow gospel artist Lanre Alewilese via Instagram, where he addressed the public on behalf of the burial planning committee.
According to Alewilese, internal disputes within the deceased’s family prompted the decision to suspend all funeral activities.
“This is to inform you that all burial plans of our Late Sister & Colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu has been CANCELLED over issues arising within her family. We’re deeply sorry for inconveniences,” he stated.
It will be recalled that the committee had earlier disclosed that the singer was scheduled to be buried on Wednesday, January 20, 2026.
