The father of late Nigerian music act, Destiny Boy has shared a deeply emotional account of how life has unfolded for him since the loss of his son, describing his days as unreal and filled with lingering grief
He revealed that since the burial, he has largely been left alone, with no consistent support or check-ins from people around him.
According to him, only two of his son’s friends have remained close, offering him monthly financial assistance as well as occasional visits and calls.
He also spoke about the emotional weight of still living in the house his late son started building for him a structure that remains incomplete.
The property, he added, has taken on a painful significance as it is also where his son was eventually laid to rest.
Before his passing, the young artist had promised to complete the house for his father, a promise that now lingers as part of the family’s unfinished story.
Reflecting on the shock of the loss, he said:
“Everything is still like a dream to me.”
He further addressed public claims suggesting that music executive Pasuma gave him a large financial gift after his son’s death, firmly dismissing the rumor:
“To people saying Pasuma gave me N10million after Destiny Boy’s de@th, it is not true. I didn’t see 10kobo”
He continued by emphasizing how difficult his current reality has been, noting the absence of wider support and the emotional isolation he has endured since the tragedy.
