Femi Opesusi, father of 19-year-old Timilehin Opesusi who tragically died by suic!de after receiving her 2025 UTME result, has made an emotional appeal to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to release what he believes is his daughter’s “true” score

In an interview with Channels Television, Mr. Opesusi accused JAMB of concealing or altering Timilehin’s result, insisting the score she received did not reflect her actual performance.
Timilehin, who was living with her elder sister in Ikorodu, Lagos, was among over 300,000 candidates affected by a nationwide technical glitch that disrupted the 2025 UTME. Though she had scored 190 in the previous year’s exam, her 2025 result showed 146 — a figure that reportedly left her devastated.
“She kept saying, ‘Daddy, this is not my result,’” Mr. Opesusi recounted, adding that despite his reassurances, she took her life just hours later.
“They have never called me, they have never granted me an interview, they have never said anything to me. I don’t want to see them. What I want is the actual result of my daughter, that’s the only thing,” he said.
Mr. Opesusi emphasized that he is not asking for compensation or an apology — only the truth and transparency he believes his late daughter deserves.
