Fayose Says Some Events Will Shake Nigeria To Its Roots In 2016, Calls 700 Clergymen For Prayers

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose yesterday urged all
Nigerians to pray for the unity of the country, predicting that some events
will shake the country to its foundation in 2016.
Fayose, who led over 700 clergymen, in conjunction with the
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to pray in the Governor’s Office, Ado
Ekiti said the country will face many socio-political challenges next year,
noting that it is only the prayers of the people that will save the country
    from the impending calamity.
Fayose also prayed against those he alleged of plotting his
impeachment in 2016, saying, “they shall be put to disgrace if they refuse to
back down on their evil plot”.

The governor, who begged the religious leaders to continue
to preach to their congregation to pay their taxes, denied the widespread
insinuation that he was planning to impose taxes on churches, adding that the
new taxes he introduced were to shore up the revenue of the state.
“We must pray for the unity of this country, because some
events will happen in Nigeria in 2016 that will shake the country to its roots.
“I also want you to pray that whoever plots against me or my
government should be disgraced. I never knew how I came back to government for
second term, because I was down and out, but the power of God brought me back”,
    Fayose said.
Urging the men of God to pray fervently for the state and
country to recover from the present economic doldrums, Fayose said:  “You know when the economy is sick, the
    church is sick as well.
