Social media activist VeryDarkMan has intensified his criticism of Wizkid amid the ongoing clash between the singer and Seun Kuti over the legacy of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti
VeryDarkMan, who had earlier accused Wizkid of disrespecting Fela, returned with a stronger stance in a new video, insisting that the Afrobeats star does not measure up to the late icon in terms of impact or contribution to society.

“Wizkid is not even greater than me talk less of Fela. He’s not. Contribution to the society? Get out, he’s not. A lot of them can’t even lace my boots.”
He argued that Wizkid deliberately tested public reaction before escalating the situation, accusing him of instigating his fans to disrespect Fela’s name.
“He started a pattern, and after testing the waters he decided to try again. That is why he decided to do this one that he is doing to Fela. The sad part is that Wizkid did not read the room before he decided to do this thing to Fela by instigating his followers to insult Fela Kuti’s name.”
VeryDarkMan went further to accuse Wizkid of habitually downplaying the achievements of those who came before him in the industry, describing it as a recurring pattern.
“What is this pattern? Wizkid likes to downplay the legacy of the people before him.”
To back his claim, he cited a past social media incident involving music executive Don Jazzy, alleging that Wizkid subtly endorsed comments that diminished the veteran’s influence.
“I’ll give you an example: Don Jazzy. Wizkid say e no fit talk to person wey dey signed to an influencer. Then another person now ask, shay na Don Jazzy you dey talk to? And Wizkid reposted it. Then another person said Don Jazzy na influencer na, and Wizkid reposted it.”
VeryDarkMan’s comments have further fueled the online debate surrounding Wizkid’s feud with Seun Kuti, with discussions now extending beyond the personal dispute to broader conversations about respect for pioneers and the preservation of Fela’s legacy in Nigerian music.
