A female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Jennifer Edema Elohor, was reportedly assaulted and stripped naked by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, in Anambra State
A video of the incident, which allegedly took place in July 2025, shows armed vigilante operatives storming a corps members’ lodge, attacking Elohor and some of her colleagues.
The disturbing footage shows the group beating Elohor, stripping her, and brandishing firearms while hurling degrading words at her.
According to the Haven360 Foundation, the assault occurred on July 23, 2025, after vigilante operatives accused corps members of engaging in cybercrime, commonly referred to as Yahoo Yahoo, despite their immediate display of uniforms and NYSC identity cards.
The foundation condemned the attack as a gross human rights violation, calling on the Anambra State Government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators. It also urged the Federal Government to intervene, ensure justice, and provide reparations for the victims.
In a statement, Haven360 said, “We strongly condemn the brutal assault and violation of rights of NYSC members by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi or ‘Agunechemba Vigilante Group’ in Anambra State.
The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed and covered in blood. The victims were subjected to unsavoury, horrible, sexually degrading words and actions, including threats of sexual violation.”
