The Federal Government has announced Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast
The declaration was made in a statement released on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who approved the holidays on behalf of the government, congratulated Muslim faithful for successfully completing the holy month of Ramadan.
He encouraged them to continue embracing the core values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice that define the fasting period.
The minister also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to offer prayers for the country’s unity, peace, and progress.
