Ahead of the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial and states houses of assembly elections in the country, the federal government has ordered the closure of all land borders.
Minister of Interior, Lt. General AB Dambazau gave the directive saying that the borders will be closed from Friday and reopened on Sunday.
