FG ‘reveals’ location of nationwide protest sponsors

President Bola Tinubu has revealed where the sponsors of the planned nationwide protest are located.

The protest is set to take place in all states of Nigeria, including Abuja, in August. Recently, the prices of food and basic goods have soared. Nigerians are experiencing severe inflation and economic challenges due to the government removing petrol subsidies and unifying foreign exchange rates.

In response, Nigerians and civil society groups are planning to protest to express their frustrations. They have vowed to continue until significant changes are made.

The Federal Government has warned against the protests, fearing they could lead to chaos. Officials are concerned that the protests, intended to be peaceful, might be taken over by troublemakers.

They have urged Nigerians not to protest, saying the demonstrations are driven by anger and hate. The government claims it is working to ease the suffering in the country.

During a meeting with Islamic leaders led by Sheikh Bala Lau, Tinubu said the protest sponsors are putting their selfish ambitions above the national interest. He revealed that these sponsors are holding virtual meetings from different parts of the world.

“The sponsors of protests do not love our country. They have no love for the nation. They do not understand citizenship. They have alternative passports. They are in different parts of the world holding meetings virtually. We do not want to turn Nigeria into Sudan. We are talking about hunger, not burials. We have to be careful. We should be careful with premature politics; politics of hate, and anger. The internet has made it possible to hold meetings in artificial settings. They hold meetings and sponsor anger,’’ the president said.
