A fire erupted late Wednesday evening at the Radio Nigeria premises on Ikoyi road, Lagos, prompting swift action from emergency responders
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, as the cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, stated that the agency received a distress call at approximately 5:30pm.
Firefighters from the Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Onitolo Fire Stations were immediately deployed to combat the flames, which had consumed the studio section of the building.
Adeseye reassured the public: “Collaborative efforts with the Federal Fire Service and other emergency responders, including the Nigerian Police, have successfully contained the fire to the studio section of the U-shaped, one-story building where it originated.
No casualties have been reported.
