Issa Hayatou, the former President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has passed away at the age of 77

Hayatou, a pivotal figure in African football for decades, d!ed in Paris on Thursday, just a day before his 78th birthday.
During his remarkable 29-year tenure as CAF President (1988-2017), Hayatou played a crucial role in increasing Africa’s FIFA World Cup slots from two to five.
He also oversaw South Africa’s historic hosting of the World Cup in 2010, a first for an African nation.
