Tragic news emerged on Saturday as former Leicester City defender Sol Bamba passed away at the age of 39
Bamba, who had been battling Non-Hodgkin lymphoma since 2020, lost his life at Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital in Turkey.
At the time of his passing, Bamba was serving as the technical director of Turkish club Adanaspor.
The club confirmed the news in a statement on social media, offering condolences to his family and community.
Throughout his career, Bamba played for notable clubs including Leeds United, Cardiff City, and Leicester City.
He also represented the Ivory Coast national team. Bamba’s courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a rare form of cancer, began on Christmas Eve in 2020. His passing has left the football community in mourning.
