A former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North Senatorial District, has passed away at the age of 68
The d3ath of the former senator was confirmed by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
In a condolence message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described Nwaoboshi as a proud son of Delta State and a courageous advocate for the Anioma people.

Governor Oborevwori noted that the late senator’s contributions to nation-building and the political development of Delta State would remain lasting, highlighting his years of dedicated service to the people.
Senator Nwaoboshi, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during his political career, served twice as Chairman of the PDP in Delta State, helping to strengthen the party’s structure within the state.
His d3ath was also confirmed by the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo. In a Facebook post, Akpowowo described Nwaoboshi as a leader, mentor, and friend.
“I just lost my senior brother, boss, leader, and friend, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi,” he wrote, adding, “While I mourn with his immediate family, the Nwaboshis, Ibusa community, Oshimili North, and the entire Delta State, I pray the Almighty God to accept his soul and grant him eternal rest.”
