The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken into custody Darius Ishaku, the former governor of Taraba State, due to allegations of fraud totaling N27 billion

Ishaku was arrested at his Abuja residence early Friday and remains in EFCC custody.
According to sources, Ishaku will face at least 15 charges related to financial malfeasance during his tenure as governor between 2015 and 2021.
The EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest but declined further comment.
This development comes amidst an ongoing dispute between the EFCC and former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, accused of embezzling N80.2 billion.
