Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Ganiu Nofiu has shared a very emotional story about a difficult period in his life, where he faced both serious health challenges and a heartbreaking personal loss.
In an interview on Oyinmomo TV, he explained that he battled a strange illness for about a year, and during that time, he could not sleep at all neither during the day nor at night.
He said the condition really affected him physically and emotionally, but he never believed it had anything to do with his acting career, even though people often link health issues in the industry to movie roles.
“I was sick for a whole year; I couldn’t sleep, neither day nor night. I never believed it was my movie roles that caused it, because people who are not actors also fall sick and die,” he said.
While still going through that health struggle, tragedy also struck his home. He revealed that he lost his young son during the same period, which made everything even more painful.
“While I was three months ill, I lost my four-year-old child,” he revealed.
According to him, going through illness and grief at the same time was one of the hardest experiences of his life.
