Senator Gbenga Daniel, who represents Ogun East, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms as he moves to secure another term in the Senate
This comes barely a week after the lawmaker raised concerns about being shut out of an APC caucus meeting held in Ijebu-Ode.
Speaking to his supporters outside the venue, Daniel insisted that any outcome from the meeting should not be recognised.

“We are here for our Ogun east APC caucus meeting, but surprisingly, we have been barred. We are told that we can’t enter but let it be said that whatever they do here today is null and void,” he said in Yoruba.
Despite the internal party tension and a reported consensus arrangement, the former Ogun State governor has now confirmed his intention to contest.
Sharing a photo of his forms on his X page on Monday, he declared his bid to return to the upper chamber.
“Today, I picked up my nomination and expression of interest forms as I seek to return to the Nigerian Senate, continuing my efforts to provide effective and responsive representation for the people of Ogun East Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he wrote.
