Gennaro Gattuso has been officially appointed as the new head coach of the Italian national football team

The former AC Milan midfielder and World Cup winner replaces Luciano Spalletti, who was dismissed following Italy’s 3–0 defeat to Norway. The announcement was confirmed by former teammate and current FIGC official, Gianluigi Buffon.
Gattuso, known for his fiery passion and discipline, brings coaching experience from top clubs including AC Milan, Napoli, Valencia, Marseille, and Hajduk Split. He won the Coppa Italia with Napoli in 2020.
His main task will be to revive Italy’s struggling World Cup qualification campaign and restore confidence in the national team after recent setbacks.
