A German billionaire vanished while skiing near Switzerland’s Matterhorn six years ago, but new evidence suggests he may have faked his death and is living in Moscow with his 44-year-old mistress.
Karl-Erivan Haub, a retail mogul, disappeared in 2018 during a solo ski tour. Despite extensive searches, his body was never found, and he was declared dead three years later. However, an investigation now claims he’s living in Russia with Veronika Ermilova, suspected of being a Russian agent.
Before his disappearance, Haub made numerous calls to Ermilova, raising suspicions of a plot to fake his death with Moscow’s help. Ermilova, who organizes outdoor excursions, is believed to have ties to Russia’s security service.
Haub’s brother, Christian, now faces allegations of making false statements under oath. Investigators suggest Haub’s disappearance could be linked to his business dealings in Russia.
While the exact method of his alleged escape remains unclear, suspicions linger about the circumstances surrounding his vanishing act.
