    the capital, Accra on Wednesday.
The President who visited the scene yesterday described the
loss of lives as “catastrophic and almost unprecedented”.  “Rescue operations will continue until the

observe three days of national mourning for the victims of the fire disaster
    and flooding,” he said.
The fire broke out at the filling station in the Kwame
Nkrumah Circle area of the city late on Wednesday night and is thought to have
    spread from a nearby residence.
