A call for former president Goodluck Jonathan to contest in the 2027 presidential election is gradually gaining grounds, but will you vote for him?
A 2027 presidential campaign poster featuring former President Goodluck Jonathan has sparked debate on social media, with many saying the ex-president should push again to be president.
The poster, shared by investigative journalist Jackson Ude on X, shows Jonathan as the presidential candidate, with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.
They say it’s a great combo.
The poster carries the slogan, “Let’s restore our country back, come 2027.”
This situation is reminiscent of a similar event in 2022, ahead of the 2023 presidential election, when a group of Northern Nigerian supporters purchased nomination forms for Jonathan to participate in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary.
Despite the pressure, Jonathan ultimately decided not to run in the 2023 presidential race.
Goodluck Jonathan previously served as Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015 under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is now the opposition party.
