Google celebrates Superman star Christopher Reeve on 69th posthumous birthday…

Global tech company, Google, celebrated Superman star, late Christopher Reeve, on Saturday, on what would have been his 69th birthday.

As a way of honouring the actor and activist, Google made Reeve its Google Doodle icon for September 25, 2021.

Born in New York on September 25, 1952, Reeve became prominent for playing the lead role in the 1978 movie, Superman, and its three sequels.

After a tragic incident in 1995 that left him paralysed, Reeve became an activist for people living with disabilities around the world.

The icon, at age 52, died of heart failure in October 2004 at a hospital near his New-York home.

Even after his death, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, which he founded in 1998, still carries his legacy till date.

Celebrating the icon on Tuesday, Google took to its verified Twitter platform saying, “Today’s #GoogleDoodle celebrates the birthday of American actor and humanitarian Christopher Reeve.

“On camera, Reeve was the Man of Steel. Off camera, he was a devoted advocate of people with disabilities and other social causes.”
